"Our SFC founding team so admired, loved and respected you that we insisted on your being our first President. You were an inspiration to us all in those early days as we installed our first Exhibition in the Pacific Design Center with the exquisite SFC logo you designed boldly proclaiming our presence.Your quiet wise leadership and high design standards sustained us all and we were most grateful...as is the Society right up to today.Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns, Blessings and Love,Allan
In 2002 I had the wonderful opportunity to begin a relationship with the Los Angeles County Graphic Arts Department, Calligraphy Unit! I adopted a t-square with Pat's name etched on it for my daily job. It gave me confidence...I felt like I really needed all the help I could get! I was there for 12 years, loving the job, and was proud to be part of it...Feel bonded to you by the experience.
"Happy, happy birthday, Pat!! I remember the cool, old car that you had when Marguerite was in high school. She drove me to graduation practice at the Hollywood Bowl and had a fender bender with a teacher's car! I'll always remember the day even if I don't remember which teacher or the type of car!!!"
From Westport, Ireland: "A very happy birthday Pat. It has been a pleasure to have known you on the few occasions we have met. I wish it had been more often. Hope you have a lovely birthday and many of them! Best of luck, your cousin John"
"...Friend for 51 years, sharing Movies, dinners, ballet at the Music Center, musicals, League of Women Voters. I enjoyed your sense of humor, your intelligence and I was always impressed with your artistic talent. Those were fun days and I do miss them...Love, Jane"
"Pat, it has been my pleasure to know you since the early 1970's. You were my teacher at Creative Arts in Sierra Madre. I do so love you and have always admired your sense of Design. Thank you for being in my life. Happy, happy Birthday! Love, Bonnie"
"Dear Pat, Sending warm birthday wishes! I have fond memories of having met you some thirty years ago. One vivid calligraphy work of yours from that time comes to mind. It was something to do with rules for traveling and said: take more money than you think you'll need and never pack more than you can run with. I've followed your advice ever since! Happy Birthday, Pat! Peace and blessings, Linda"

"To my FAB NEIGHBOR AND FRIEND, PAT TOPPING...You are the best! Witty, mischievous, sharp as a tack, opinionated, boy crazy (oh yes you are), stylish, BFF to dogs and cats the world over and lots and lots of fun. Of course, you are loving, kind and all that stuff that isn't as much fun as being boy crazy and opinionated. I love knowing you, Pat. You've been a great pleasure these past 23 years and have made the Hartwick hood home for me. Much Love Forever, Pam (and Charlie and Bailey)"
"Pat I hope you have a wonderful Birthday. I remember that you always did the most beautiful calligraphy...Best Wishes Linda"
