Pat was such a rock to steer by, to check reality against, a measure of personal integrity.
And she was a leader... I always thought of her as the " Rock" in Eagle Rock ( plus a lot of heart).
Mucho Love,
Mabel and Donald Jackson

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing.  She was such a wonderful mother, as well as a great friend to my mother, and a role model for all of us.  Our whole family admired your mom for her amazing talent, her supportiveness and generosity, and her delightfully-funny-yet-slightly-twisted outlook on the world.  As the father of two girls, I keep Pat Topping as one of the ideals of what a powerful, creative woman can be.  She will be missed.

You know how loved and respected your mom was by all of the SFC members who knew her. Donald Jackson was amazed at how she could just sit down and come up with a great piece without having to do layout after layout first. Her artistry inspired us.
Many blessings,
Janet Martorello

God Bless Her and You.
I pray her passing was peaceful.
If there’s anything we can do, don’t hesitate to ask.
In respect,
Paul and David

I treasure my fond memories of picking Pat up for our San Gabriel Pot Lucks at Nancy Campbell's lovely home. Attending lectures and visiting with Pat at many events for our wonderful Society for Calligraphy. She was an inspiration to many of us who knew her though out years of the SFC....

Cheers to Pat!!! her legacy will live on...

Heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mum.

Despite not knowing her very well, she was always kind, and I do know that she was loved by many, but especially by you. Please know that Mark’s and my thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family.

Love,

Xandra

Dear Family of the one and only Pat Topping,
When Pat Topping touched her pen to paper a dance took place. I loved being in the room with her in the early days (Larry/Marsha Brady, David Mekelburg, Donald Jackson), feeling the movement of air change in the room once she finished a line or profound word. And O so modest. I would be over-ebullient with joyful comment and Pat would quietly respond, “Oh thank you.”

What an outstanding spirit she extended to all of us, which I cherish to this day.

Thank you for offering us the opportunity to be together again if at all possible.

I was sad to hear of your mother's passing. I watched the video of her reminiscing about her life. I assume you put it together -- it was fantastic! I especially liked seeing the photos of Chicago at about the time our parents lived there, too. After watching the video, I think I may have figured out where our mothers met: I'm fairly sure that my mom said they didn't meet in Chicago, but since she also worked in California painting (airbrushing) silk ties, I'll bet it was there.

It's sad to see that generation go! It seems to me that they were a little more gracious and sweet. What changes they lived through. I think both of our mom's WERE a little ahead of their time. As I grow older I am becoming more appreciative of having had a mother who allowed time for creativity. Not all parents give that to their children! Cheers to our beautiful, artist-moms...

Best regards, Celia

Please know that I am very sad at the passing of both your mother and Lefty.
They are unique in their own generation and astounding in the present generations, as fountains of beautiful living and caring. I knew Lefty much better than Pat, since I coordinated the Spring Retreat for many years and Lefty was a distinguished regular. I hope you are enduring your grief and comforted by the life you had
together and by the richness of those who love all of you.
Take care,
Barbara Wampole
